Case Study: A new website for events and registrations
As our name suggests we love being part of the Gold Coast community and we recently had the opportunity to create a website for a premier local event series.
The team behind the Sports Super Centre Fun Run Series approached us to develop a site that addressed a number of factors that ensured it promoted the run and attracted participants. We were very excited about taking on this job as we knew there were some great features we could incorporate into the web design.
First of all we converted the site to WordPress, our preferred content management system. WordPress allows any user to update their own website (no technical knowledge required) so, it is ideal for organisations wanting to have an active website.
In regards to the front end that visitors would see, we wanted to get people excited with anticipation so we had an interactive countdown clock on the homepage. We also made sure we had a big “Enter Now!” banner and of course, gave fair coverage to the event’s sponsors.
The website also played the important role of taking registrations. To do this, we built customised entry forms for each of the individual events that were easy to use and captured the important details of participants.
Lastly, as with all websites that we create we made sure we developed a responsive web design that was attractive on any device. Whether users accessed the site from a mobile phone or a desktop computer, they had the same quality viewing experience and access.
There was a lot of information that needed to be shared on this website, but we made sure the overall design was structured neatly and creatively so that it was inviting and easy to read. It goes to show that it doesn’t matter what the content is, there is a great website just waiting to be built.
